Overview
At the beginning of the third year spring semester, students are tasked with outfitting an existing barn in Sonoma, CA with a winery. With an emphasis on teaching the science that goes into winemaking, Scirebrooke winery was my proposal to the brief.
The Project
Scirebrooke Winery is the product of my former pre-med mind experimenting with its place in architecture & design. My love for chemistry was able to shine by finding conceptual inspiration in the organic chemistry that is foundational to the art of wine.
Parti
Looking at the t-Resveratrol molecule, one of the more interesting organic molecules present in wine, the parti is developed through analyzing the flow of electrons through the conjugation found in it's arrangement.
This circulation of electrons formed the basis of how patrons would move about in this space.

Logo & Branding

Branding
Creating a brand for this winery was an important and very fun undertaking to define what this winery would look and feel like. Since education was foundational to this very abstract concept, "academic prestige" became the guiding language for defining the brand.

Landscape Design
This project focused on indoor/outdoor relationships. It was a chance to call on my experience working for a landscaping company to design everything from raised beds and a water viewing area to the overall layout of the vineyard.
